The Steward Board – Persons are nominated by the pastor and confirmed at the Quarterly Conference by The Presiding Elder. This Board is responsible for the spiritual and financial functions of the church. Serves as an advisory to the pastor.
The Board of Trustees – A board of generally 3-19 members nominated by the pastor and elected by the church membership. This board is responsible for the temporal concerns of the church.
The Stewardess Board – Persons nominated by the pastor and confirmed by the Board of Stewards. The main function of the stewardesses is to assist the stewards in the discharge of their duties relating to the rituals of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Commission on Stewardship and Finance – Responsible for promoting and cultivating Christian stewardship and administering the financial program of the church.
Women’s Missionary Society – Women organized for the purpose of instilling in all the cooperation of supporting the Conference Branch (area, local) financially, by fostering missionary activities of the church.
YPD – An organization for the youth (up to age 26) of the church, working under the leadership of the Women’s Missionary Society for the purpose of carrying out a missionary program for young people. The program includes Bible Study, The Doctrine and Discipline of the A.M.E. Church, WMS/YPD Constitutions, service projects in the community, and workshops in Christian social relations and family life.
Church School – Organized to teach, train, and nurture, adults, young adults, and children in God’s word, preparing them for Christian service.
Lay Organization – Composed of nonclergy persons for the purpose of placing in the membership the love of and appreciation for the history, tradition and principles of African Methodism and encouraging the support of the total program of the local church.
Sons of Allen – Comprised of men for the purpose of encouraging men to become involved in helping others to find Christ in their lives.
Christian Education Commission – Is responsible for the supervision of the recruitment, training, and assignment of Christian Education workers in the local church.
Music Ministry – Responsible for the musical elements for Worship. This includes selection of appropriate hymns and selections for all services.
Choir - The purpose is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers to walk with Christ and lead the congregation in worship. Also, to provide and outlet for individuals to share their musical gifts and to be an involved part of the worship experience.
Usher Board – To demonstrate the gift of hospitality. To express the love of Jesus Christ through acts of kindness and service to worshipers. To be the example of God’s hospitality through sharing warmth and kindness to the congregants and especially the visiting guest.
Pastor’s Aide Auxiliary – To provide spiritual, moral, and financial support to the pastor; To show love, encouragement, strength, and service to the pastor and first family.
Media – To provide a medium to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to a visually driven, constantly changing world with technology and other media. To equip other ministries of the church to use digital and electronic media as a worship and outreach tool.
Care and Concern Ministry – Responsible for ministering to the members and their families experiencing illness and bereavement.
